A high fructose intake to a decrease in insulin sensitivity and increase risk of type 2 diabetes, consuming 1 to 2 sugar sweetened beverages per day were 26% more likely to increase type 2 diabetes than those who drank one or fewer sweetened beverages per month. Liquid sugars have negative effects on heart health. Consuming a lot of fructose, triglycerides and other fat molecules are released into the bloodstream which may increase the risk for heart disease.
